There are some products that I use if not everyday, then often enough to make them pretty important to my beauty routine. However, they’re not cosmetics or what you would think of as “typical” beauty products, which is why I’ve titled this post (and the video that goes with it) Random Beauty Favorites. These products were new to my routine in 2016 and now I can’t imagine life without them!
Colleen Rothschild Mandelic Acid
This one skincare product really changed my skin in a big way. At my age, I really need to use a chemical exfoliant on a regular basis, but glycolic acid is too strong for my sensitive skin. Enter Mandelic Acid, which is a much larger molecule than glycolic so it doesn’t penetrate as deeply into the skin. What does that mean for me? It’s gentle enough to use every day, and since I’ve started using it in April, my skin is brighter, it breaks out far less (almost never), fine lines are even finer, and no more dry patches!
RapidLash Eyelash Serum
I am pathetic at putting on false eyelashes, and I already am high maintenance enough without adding on lash extensions. So I decided to give RapidLash a try and boy am I glad I did! The results are pretty amazing! It took about 4 weeks to see really noticeable changes, so stick with it! Now I use it every night or every two nights just to maintain them.
Clinique Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover Stick
Don’t let the name fool you-I use this to take off lipstick when I need to swap shades for filming YouTube videos without ruining the rest of my makeup. I know this is a rather peculiar use for it, but if you happen to need to spot remove makeup, give this a try!
It Cosmetics Brush Bath
I wear makeup almost everyday. I use brushes to apply said makeup almost everyday. They get dirty. I have to clean them. I hate doing that! Enter It Cosmetics Brush Bath-now I don’t hate doing it (as much)! This stuff works so well and so fast-your brushes are dry in an instant!!
Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo
I don’t wash my hair everyday. I have dry, chemically treated hair. and it’s really not recommended to do so. But sometimes my hair needs a little “phloofing” up in between showers, or even if it’s freshly washed, using this dry shampoo from Aveda instantly adds volume. It was even a life saver for Shane when he was in the hospital and couldn’t shower! I swear by it now!
T3 Twirl 360 Curling Iron
I usually go for a much looser, beachier curl, but I LOVE how my hair turns out when I use this curling iron. I also love how evenly the barrel heats up and how long my curls last. The fun auto-twirling part doesn’t hurt either! I’m a sucker for gadgets!!
