Where Are They Now? // May Favorites from 2012
If you’re a fan of beauty blogs and YouTube videos, then you must be familiar with the “Monthly Favorites” concept–where the blogger/vlogger does a run through of her absolute must-have, most awesome, most wonderful, favorite products of the month. They’re personally one of my favorite videos to make and to watch, but I’ve always wondered…what happens to those favorites? Was it a one-night stand kind of love affair, or was that the beginning of a life long relationship? Now that I’ve been making videos for almost SIX years now, I’ve decided to go back in time and reflect on my favorites from the exact month, except I go back four years. I’ve started a little playlist for these videos, and I’m really hoping the concept gets picked up by other bloggers and vloggers out there! So let’s take a look at what was on the favorites list from May 2012 and see if they’re still around!
If you’d like to see the original May 2012 video, have a look here, and make sure you’re subscribed to my YouTube channel to see my favorites for May 2016!
I always like to add some non-beauty favorites to my list, and in May 2012 it was all about the people! I highly recommend Ally Valentine and Nur’s YouTube channels–I’m still subscribed to both of them and watch every video they upload! The only thing that’s changed since 2012 is that now we’re friends in real life, which is still a bit surreal for me! I’m also still a big fan of Tati’s videos-and now she uploads a video every single weekday! #YTgoals
I also mentioned a newly released book, which is one that I’ve re-read at least twice since then: by Daniel O’Malley. The exciting news is that he’s about to release the sequel, Stiletto, which you can pre-order on Amazon .
Here’s a look at the rest of my favorites from May 2012 that are still available today:
The only ones that are no longer available are the Victoria Secret Beach Sexy Body Lotion with Shimmer (who wants to shimmer???), the Victoria Secret eyeshadow single in Between the Sheets (keep reading for a dupe), and the MAC Paint Pot in Nubile (which was a Limited Edition).

Some of the favorites are still in use or have been repurchased. I’m still a big fan of the and the . I’ve found a more expensive dupe for the Victoria Secret eyeshadow with , but I really wish that VS still made cosmetics!
