There’s a reason I’m calling this week’s vlog “The Calm Before The Storm”…this was the week leading up to Jake’s last week at home. We didn’t do anything all that exciting-just recovered from our trip to Los Angeles and run a whole bunch of errands to get all the last minute things Jake needs before we send him off to Ole Miss. You’d think I was sending him to Mt. Everest Base Camp the way I’ve been stockpiling everything he just might need! I guess it’s that last bit of helicoptering motherhood that I need to get out of my system. I have a feeling by the time Shane leaves for college we might not even slow down the car before we shove him out at his dorm! (Shane, if you’re reading this, I’m just kidding. I’m sure I’ll be heartbroken.)
In all seriousness, as I write this, I’m ready to see him go. These last few weeks have been like ripping a band-aid off very, very slowly. It’s time for Jake to leave the nest and spread his wings, and it’s time for those of us still at home to get on with it already!
Also, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale finally came to an end. The bad news is that the sale prices are gone, and you won’t see a sale like that again until next July. The good news is that (almost) everything you loved but didn’t buy will be re-stocked at Nordstrom throughout the fall/winter, so you can still get them if you want. I’m still kicking myself that I didn’t get these Block-Heel Sandals (perfect for fall in Texas), this Suede Moto Jacket or this Military-Style Coat at the sale prices. Don’t be surprised if you see any (or all) of them in a haul soon!
In case you missed them, I did get a couple of videos up last week, and for your viewing pleasure I have linked them below. Some browsers allow the videos to be embedded, so you can just click on the thumbnail, otherwise just click on the title to watch them on YouTube. If you’re not subscribed to my YouTube channel, please take a moment to do so by clicking HERE. Then you’ll be sure never to miss one in the future!
Don’t forget to watch the vlog:
I’ll be back next Sunday with a post all about our road trip to AND from Oxford, Mississippi and let you know how I’m doing with one less kiddo in the house!
Have a great week!
