May 2014 Favorites
There are so many ways of marking the passing of time, but my favorite has got to be the monthly favorites videos. I don’t keep a journal (although I’ve started about 18 million times), so this is a nice way for me to look back on each month and sort of recap what I’ve been using and liking for the previous thirty days or so.
This May has been rather unusual, in that it has been a true spring. We didn’t break the 90 degree mark (that’s around 38 celsius) until the last few days of May, so it was nice to truly savor the last bit of cool weather before that sweltering hot South Texas heat comes around!
I’m not going to go into too much detail here about the products (the video really takes care of that), but there were a few things I forgot to mention in the video that I wanted to let you all know about:
- While I’ve been LOVING the Hourglass Ambient Blush in Mood Exposure, I just broke out the other color I bought, Ethereal Glow, and I love that just as much. Believe the hype-they really are great blushes!
- The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser (Brightener) is also great for popping on top of your concealer toward the end of the day to freshen up under your eyes, much like the Garnier Anti-Dark Circle Roller Ball.
- The Stila In the Light palette is probably my most used palette. I ordered what is supposed to be a dupe for it, the Patti Dubrof palette, from HauteLook over a month ago. When (if) it ever gets here, I’ll be sure to do a video comparing the two.
- The Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight Hair Treatment really is a miracle product for those ladies with naturally frizzy/curly/wavy hair who would rather it not be quite so frizzy/curly/wavy. I think it’s really going to come in handy this summer with swimming, sweating, etc.
- I made a crack about the Gorjana Teagan cuff not being real gold. Well, in fact, it is plated with 18K gold, so I was sort of wrong. That makes it a great piece for the price!
- If you need some summer reading suggestions, you really can’t go wrong with the Kate Shugak mystery series by Dana Stabenow. There are currently 20 books in the series, so that should keep you busy for awhile!
Please watch the video, give it a thumbs up, and don’t forget to subscribe!
