Sephora Spring Haul + Other Goodies
The is finally open to everyone-Rouge, VIB Members and Beauty Insiders, and if you’re still in the mood for some shopping inspiration, I wanted to share with you some of the highlights of my own Sephora Spring Haul from last week. I filmed a video of me applying everything I bought, and if you want to watch it, click here or scroll down to the end of this post. Otherwise, enjoy the awkwardly posed screenshots and keep reading!
I’ve been wanting to grab this foundation for awhile-ever since I saw Dorinda Medley’s flawless skin in her confessionals on the Real Housewives of New York. I direct messaged her on Instagram asking her what foundation she used and she actually answered me back!! The shade match is perfect for me but I can’t report back yet on coverage, wear time, etc. I used a new brush to buff it in and I don’t think I chose the right brush for the job. Be sure to check back next week for another installment of my where I put ridiculously priced cosmetics to the test to determine if they’re really worth the price (this one is $83 full price)!
I’ve been looking for a nice, soft matte blush for summer and Jouer nailed it with this duo. Plus, the packaging is absolutely gorgeous. They do run to the very light side of the spectrum, so if you’re medium toned or darker, I’d opt for a different shade from this range. It also has a faint floral scent, but it isn’t noticeable unless you stick your nose right into the palette. They’re both buildable and hard to overdo on the face, which is exactly what I was looking for going into summer.
I am a neutrals girl and I will make no apologies for it. I’m still searching for that absolute perfect palette (if she had swapped out one of the mid-tone mattes for an ivory matte I think we might be on to something) but this is pretty darn close. I was able to play with this last month when I shared a hotel room with LuxMommy (also known as Amanda) and I fell in love with it. You can get more dramatic with it than you might think but it’s mostly a great everyday palette without trying too hard.
This mascara isn’t all that new, but it’s new to me. I’ve used it a whopping one time but it was love right out of the tube. It’s seriously black. My lashes looked extra long, extra thick, and most importantly, the mascara STAYED ON MY LASHES AND DIDN’T END UP ON MY FACE, i.e., it did what it was supposed to do. Go figure. Anyway, it’s too early to say that the is a favorite, but it’s definitely looking that way.
If you’re a YouTube subscriber of MsGoldgirl, then you know I’m a big fan of the . I picked up two more shades in the Sephora Spring Beauty Event-the one pictured above (Be Brilliant), and then a beautiful, neutral everyday shade (Nuit et Jour). These are what liquid lipsticks should be. They last a long time on the lips, leave a lovely stain, stay glossy for a VERY long time, and are not drying at all. I’m sure I will add more to my collection at some point-probably a coral for summer!
I also picked up a few other things, some just before the sale, some during it. Scroll through to see everything that came home with me!
