Top 5 Colleen Rothschild Products
Whenever anyone asks me what I recommend for skincare products, no matter what their age, skin type, area of concern or type of routine they favor, I always recommend . You can’t go wrong with any of her products (yes, Colleen is both a brand and an actual person), but to help you get started, here are my top 5 Colleen Rothschild products that will work for everyone. Bonus: if you’re reading this from May 14-May 20, 2019, you can get them and everything else on the site for 25% off during their Friends and Family Sale with the code FAMILY25.
Let’s get into the products, shall we? It’s hard to pick a favorite, even out of the top 5, so I’ll start with what I fondly call the gateway drug, the . This was the first product I ever tried from Colleen Rothschild and from there I wanted EVERYTHING! This luscious cleansing balm is what I use every night to cleanse my face. It takes off all my makeup, leaves my skin feeling clean but not stripped, and smells DIVINE!! So divine, in fact, that the scent was later made into a ! The key to using it is to take about a quarter sized amount, rub it between your fingers to emulsify it, then rub all over your DRY face to help break up the makeup and oils that are on your face. Wet the muslin cloth that comes with the balm with warm water, press it against your face for a few seconds, then wash as normal. It’s a spa experience every night!

The next favorite has to be the Face Oil No. 9. To say this is a moisturizer doesn’t do the product justice. I personally use this every evening as my night moisturizer, but I have also used it in combination with heavier moisturizers to lighten them a bit, with lighter moisturizers to make them a bit heavier, with a foundation to add a bit of glow, and even on the backs of my hands and on my cuticles for extra moisturization (is that even a word?!) there. It’s a glass bottle full of magical properties! Actually, they’re not magical, some of the ingredients include jojoba oil, black seed oil, marula oil, meadow foam oil, sweet almond oil, and Omega 3, 6 and 9. It’s a multi-functional product that works on my dry skin and equally well on my friends with oil skin.
I’m always asked if I use a primer under makeup, and I don’t. This morning moisturizer is why. The is the perfect everyday moisturizer. It absorbs quickly and easily into my skin, doesn’t leave my skin red like some creams do, and dries to a semi-matte finish that works perfectly under all my foundations. Being a bit of a beauty junkie, I’m constantly testing out different foundations, and this one plays well with all of them. It’s a lightweight moisturizer that actually moisturizes, and again, works across all skin types.
EYE CREAMS
I couldn’t decide between the two eye creams that Colleen Rothschild offers, so I decided not to, because I use them both daily! In the morning, I always use the . I’m very particular in what I’m looking for in a daytime eye cream. I want something that leaves my undereye area feeling well hydrated, but it needs to absorb easily and not interfere with my undereye concealer and foundation. Not only does the check all those boxes, but it also helps with dark circles, fine lines, and puffiness. What else can a girl ask for? However, in the evening, I do want something a bit more heavy duty, and I want to incorporate retinol into my evening routine. For that, I use the . What’s unique about this serum is that it combines retinol and Vitamin C which really appears to be more effective than any other eye cream I’ve used. It comes in a little glass bottle with a pump and comes out in a gel/serum type formula. As you pat it into the skin, it emulsifies and becomes more oily in texture, but then rapidly gets absorbed into the skin so you’re left with greasy undereyes. I haven’t found anything else like it and I can’t recommend it enough!
HAIR CARE ESSENTIALS
I know I started off this post by talking about skin care, but this newest release from Colleen Rothschild has quickly become my favorite “product” of here (it’s really three products in one) and I have to include it in my top 5. First off, and I know this is very superficial, but I love the packaging. The soft blush tones look so pretty in my bathroom! However, this has not stopped my husband from “borrowing” my products! All three products are sold together as a set. The can be used as both a daily conditioner or, if left on the hair longer, as a deep conditioning mask. It contains argan and moringa oils as well as kokum, shea, capuacu and bacuri butters, but somehow it doesn’t weigh down my fine hair. It’s also color-safe, which is perfect for my color-treated, dry, faux-blonde hair and I use it as my daily conditioner. It also comes with a brush, which I leave in my shower and use to brush through the Mask. The last product in the Hair Care Essentials Set is the , which is my absolute favorite. Two stand-out ingredients are cotton seed oil and moringa oil, which help with smoothing, frizz, and fly-aways. I use the serum two ways-in my damp hair before styling and on my dry hair after styling as a last step. I’ve been using the hair care products for about a month now and my colorist recently commented that my hair has never looked better! I’ve also had total strangers come up to me and smell my hair, which is either very flattering or extremely creepy, but either way it’s a testament to how good the hair products smell!
