April 2014 Favorites

I love making Favorites videos, and I love watching them.  These videos truly give a snapshot of what I’ve been using and liking for the month, and it’s a fun way for me to keep track of the year as the months fly by!  If you haven’t already seen the video on YouTube, here it is for your viewing pleasure:

April has been a whirlwind month for me.  In addition to all the usual kids’ activities before and after school, I had the opportunity to travel not once but twice this month!  Both trips were unusual for me, in that the children did not come with me.  I think I’ve been on only one trip without my children since my honeymoon!

The first trip was to Los Angeles, where I had the opportunity to accompany my husband on a business trip.  While he was there, I arranged to meet with some YouTube connections and had the pleasure of finally meeting Jamie Greenberg in person.  She was gracious enough to come to my hotel room and do my makeup, just like I was a real celebrity!  It was truly the experience of a lifetime!  Jamie filmed the video for her channel, and I will tweet a link to it as soon as it goes live.

I also just returned from my second trip of the month, which was a Thursday-Sunday visit to Dallas on my very first “work” trip.  I had the honor of being invited to an invitation only blogger conference.  I’m not sure which was more fun-meeting fellow YouTubers Fleur de Force, EssieButton, or AmeliaLiana, rooming with LisaSz09, or mingling with the top fashion bloggers from all over the world.  The people watching opportunities were amazing, and I learned a lot about how to be a better blogger.  Rule number one: write blog posts consistently!

So, with that in mind, watch this space for twice a week blog posts to accompany my videos, as well as some blog only “extras” that will pop up from time to time.  I’m also in the stages of redesigning my blog to polish it up a bit and have it better reflect my personality, so keep an eye out for some exciting changes!
