Best of Fashion 2019
Here we are into the 2nd installment of the Best of 2019 series (if you missed Best of Beauty, click here) and today it’s all about fashion. By fashion, I do NOT mean haute couture. I mean the stuff I put on my body to leave the house. I would love to be aspirational and all that jazz but the reality is my goal is to just put on clothes and leave the house looking reasonably put together. Sometimes I hit the mark, some days…well, there’s always tomorrow.
I’ve broken down my favorites into categories in the accompanying video, but I thought it would be easiest to just put everything in a little boutique widget for you to peruse below. I do need to highlight a few key places I love to shop:
Obviously, this should go without saying, but range in price and options is unmatched by any other department store, and their customer service and return policy is incredible. My go-to brands that they carry are , , and
I’ve actually shopped at for clothing since I was in my 20’s, but I’m enjoying a new found love for clothing this year. They’ve really revamped their lines, although most of the best stuff is only carried online. My go-to brands at are , , and Scoop.
CHICO’S
I don’t talk about Chico’s a lot on my YouTube channel, but this is the place for basics. Clothing basics, accessories, sunglasses, readers, you would be surprised what they have, and their sales are incredible. I know they’re thought of as a brand for more “mature” women, and they are, but there are a TON of hidden gems in their line that are age appropriate for anyone.
This was definitely the year my collection from Kendra Scott exploded. Her headquarters are just up the road from me in Austin and I had the pleasure of collaborating with the brand late last year. I love how they’ve added new classics to the line as well as some fun limited-edition pieces. I can’t wait to see what gets released in 2020.
AMAZON
I think the whole world discovered Amazon as a place for clothing and accessories. I had a few standout pieces that I highlighted in the video but I’ve saved all of my favorites in my Amazon Storefront if you’re interested in taking a look.
Here are some of the standouts from 2019:
Hi Marnie!
Does your EC planner fit inside the Social Threads messenger bag (bigger, newer one)? If so, is there room for anything else? EC has a tote bag kind of thing on the website (https://www.erincondren.com/planner-tote-bags) that I am considering, but I really like the one you have better. Obviously the EC will fit in the EC tote with room to spare, but I thought I’d ask you before buying the messenger bag and having it be too small. Thanks!
