Easy Does It-Target Style

I am a creature of habit. I get up at the same time, with or without setting my alarm. I drink the same coffee every morning, and generally go through each part of my day in the same manner as I did the day before. When it comes to beauty products, I find myself falling into the same rut, reaching for the same things. But by doing that, I miss out on all the great new products that are out there. So I’ve come up with a simple trick to force myself to get out there and try new things, and it’s worked out great. What is it? PUT THE NEW PRODUCTS IN PLAIN SIGHT, MIXED WITH THE STUFF YOU USE EVERY DAY. I know, it sounds obvious, but for me, it wasn’t. One of my main habits is to put everything away, which ends up meaning I forget that I even have the new stuff to begin with! I started this habit with two products I received in the latest , and my hair couldn’t be happier!

Clairol Hair Food Mask

I’ve been using the same shampoo & conditioner for years, which coincidentally is a brand that I discovered at – the . However, I’m terrible at remembering to use a deep conditioner or hair mask, which my color-treated hair really needs. So when I got the in the , instead of putting it in my cabinet with all my other hair products that never see the light of day, I did something crazy-I PUT IT IN MY SHOWER!! I know, I know, not exactly rocket science, but definitely something different from my routine. Not only have I been using the and loving it, but my husband discovered it and has been using it regularly as well. Since we’ve both been spending a lot of time outside under the hot Texas sun, we could definitely use the extra conditioning!

Hair Mist

Speaking of hot sun, the other product I’ve finally managed to incorporate into my daily routine has been the . I’ve always been a stickler for slathering on the sunscreen on my face and body, but I’ve never given a thought to what the sun did to my hair, especially to what it did to my color. I’ve finally gotten the color just right, to an ashy, cool-toned blonde. UV damage could really do a number on that! So when I saw that the also included the , I just left it right on my bathroom counter in plain sight, so I wouldn’t forget to use it! I love it just because of how it smells (citrus-yumminess), but because of the UV filters, my hair has also stayed the ashy blonde I’ve been trying so hard to get! It also adds a lovely shine, and since my hair is naturally quite dry, the sunflower oil in the product is an added bonus to keep it from getting straw-like in the Texas sun. The has become such a part of my daily routine that it came with me on my recent vacation to New Mexico. I kept it in my bag at the pool for touch-ups throughout the day.
