Evening Skincare Routine | Summer 2016
I get asked all the time what skincare products I use. Earlier this summer, I showed you my morning routine, and this month, I’ve broken down what I do at night. While I’m very loyal to in the morning, in the evening I use no less than SEVEN brands on any given evening. I don’t use every product every night, but all of the products mentioned are definitely regulars in my evening skincare routine. Many of these products were recommended by the queen of skincare, Caroline Hirons, and she is always spot on! So let’s get on with routine!
WHAT I USE EVERY NIGHT
Every evening I take off my eye makeup with a micellar water, and for the past few months it’s been the . It’s very gentle on the eyes and gets everything off. Then I wash my face with my all-time favorite cleansing balm, the , which I remove with a . We’ll skip through the special treatments for now (they’re coming, just keep reading) which may include a 2nd cleanse, a physical exfoliator and/or a serum. Then it’s time for my favorite evening chemical exfoliant, the . It’s a mostly lactic acid based exfoliant that is a powerhouse and removing dull/dead skin, hyper-pigmentation, etc. I will never be without it! Then it’s on to eye cream, and most nights it’s still the . I have no idea how many jars I’ve bought but there’s a reason-it’s the best one I’ve ever used. Finally, it’s time to moisturize, and every night the final step in my routine is a layer of the I put it on top of any other special treatment or moisturizer I may be using, or I use it alone. It’s another miracle worker!!

WHAT I USE FOR SPECIAL TREATMENTS
These are the products that I use either a few nights a week, or bring out for special circumstances, like when my skin is feeling a little tight, or I’ve been out in the heat all day. The first product is the . I use this as a second cleanse on the evenings my skin is a little inflamed, irritated, or I’m noticing some new blemishes. A little goes a LONG way! Next are the physical exfoliants, which I use either once or twice a week, and always before I use a self-tanner. I flip flop between two of them-the (which is both a chemical AND physical exfoliant) and the . Another chemical exfoliant I’ve been testing out for a few months is the StriVectin Overnight Resurfacing Concentrate. I do like it, but I’m not ready to give up on my just yet! Then comes a serum, which adds a bit more moisture to my face. I’ve been using the . It has hyaluronic acid in it and it adds just that little tiny oomph to any moisturizers I follow up with. On the nights when I don’t want a heavier eye cream, I reach for the . It’s great for nights when I’ve been outside all day and I can’t stand to have anything on-it just makes me feel hotter! Another product that fits in that category is the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Mineral Water Gel. It’s an incredibly light-weight and cooling moisturizer. Speaking of moisturizers, there are three more that make it into my regular rotation-the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Rich Cream, the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa Mask and the Colleen Rothschild Extreme Recovery Cream. All three are heavier moisturizers which I will use more in the winter, but I like to use at least one of them once or twice a week to boost my perennially dry skin.
