QVC Beauty Haul & 1st Impressions

June 22, 2016 by Marnie 2 Comments

QVC Beauty Haul

For years I’ve been hearing from you about how wonderful QVC is, how so many of you actually set your DVR’s for specific product “shows”, but I never really thought too much about ordering products directly from the QVC website until recently.  So when QVC reached out to me and asked if I’d partner with them on a beauty haul video, I jumped at the chance!  I had no idea how many brands they carry and how amazing their prices are!  So keep reading to see what I “hauled” and get some first impressions about the products, too!Philosophy Custard & Cream Super-Size Shower Gel Trio

Let’s start with the surprise favorite–the Philosophy Custard & Cream Super-Size Shower Gel Trio with three different scents: Apricots & Cream, Fresh Cream, and Lemon Custard.  The Philosophy brand has a cult following, and now I understand why.  These shower gels smell AMAZING, they lather well, and they are multi-taskers.  I’ve used them as a shampoo and as a bubble bath, and the scents are just perfect for the hot summer months.  Unfortunately, my husband is enjoying them as well, so it’s a good thing they came in the super-size, because we’re working through them quickly!!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full-Coverage Foundation w/BrushYou know I’ve been a fan of Tarte products for a long time-their Amazonian Clay Blushes are some of my favorite blushes, so when I had the chance to try their well-loved Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation AND the matching brush, I jumped on it.  This foundation is definitely full coverage, but I also sheered mine out by mixing it with a liquid highlighter and/or my daily moisturizer.  I love the staying power of the foundation and that it sticks through the heavy humidity and heat that I have to live with in south Texas. I got mine in the shade Light, which will work when I’m not using my fake tanner.

It Cosmetics Anti-Aging Celebration Foundation with BrushFor those of you who are big It Cosmetics fans, you’ll note that I mixed up the brushes in the preceding two photographs–the above photo is of the It Cosmetics Anti-Aging Celebration Foundation with the brush that goes with the Tarte Foundation and vice versa.  Oops!! My only excuse is that it was about 100% humidity and 90+ degrees outside when I took the pictures and I think my brain had melted by then.

Anyway, I thought I was not going to like this foundation–I have dry skin and powder foundations just don’t work for me.  Then I tried the It Cosmetics Anti-Aging Celebration Foundation and was absolutely blown away.  I do have to use a little more moisturizer than usual, but holy beautiful glow and lasting power!!  The finish makes me look like I’ve been kissed by angels, and the coverage is exactly what I need.  Why have I waited so long to get this into my life?! I did try using it as a setting powder over my usual It Cosmetics CC+ Cream, but it ended up being too cakey on me.  But it’s absolutely perfect when worn all by itself over well-moisturized skin.

Laura Geller INKcredible Gel Eyeliner Pencil Set of 4Laura Geller is another well-loved brand (Has anyone tried her new baked highlighters? They look GORGEOUS) that I wanted to explore more.  Because I live in south Texas, humidity and heat are big factors in choosing my makeup products.  So when I saw that the Incredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliners are waterproof AND gel, I had to have them.  The set of four comes in four colors-brown, black, blue and purple.  The tips are incredibly fine, they glide across the lid, and once they set they DO. NOT. BUDGE. You will not be disappointed with these.  My preference is to wear a dark brown shade most days, but I’ve been giving my regular neutral look a little kick by adding a thin line of the blue or purple to my upper lash line.  It’s subtle, but it’s fun and still age-appropriate for me!

Lipstick Queen Sinner LipsticksMy final pick from QVC was two lipsticks from Lipstick Queen.  I already own a few of their products and really like them, so I was pleased to be able to add two more shades to my collection.  The one on the left is Sunny Rouge and the one on the right is Rose Sinner.  These are both from the Sinner line (as opposed to the Saint line, which are sheer lipsticks) and the colors are actually a little deeper than what I expected when I ordered them from the website.  I know I’ll reach for them more in the fall, especially Rose Sinner.  These are very pigmented, very creamy lipsticks that immediately started to melt in the afternoon sun as I tried to take a photo of them.  If you’re going to be spending a lot of time outdoors this summer, leave these at home!

So that’s my big first haul from QVC–and I’m sure it won’t be my last!  I already have the It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara and the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Highlighter in my shopping bag…but before I hit “buy” I’d love to hear from you!  What are your favorite deals from QVC? Let me know in the comments below!

My Haul Picks and Wish List

I’ve been working with QVC to review some of the products they sell, and QVC has sent me some amazing products to try out.  I am receiving compensation to review these products, but all the opinions I’ve expressed are my own.

I buy a lot of the supersize value sets at QVC and the Philosophy shower gels are some of my favorites. I love that the shower gels smell so good while I’m in the shower, but the scents don’t linger on my skin or interfere with any lotion or perfume I want to wear that day. If I want to smell like Fresh Cream all day, I can use the perfume or lotion, or I can step out of the shower and use my favorite perfume and no one will know which shower gel I used.
