Fun Finds at the Grocery Store
Last month I had the opportunity to partner with my local grocery store, H-E-B, and pick out some old makeup favorites as well as scope out some of the new makeup releases that just hit the shelves. H-E-B is truly a makeup lover’s paradise, and if you can get to one of their H-E-B Plus stores, you’ll be in heaven! I particularly enjoy the one located in San Antonio at the intersection of Highway 281 N and Evans Road. You won’t find a better or larger selection of all your typical drugstore brands, plus the entire NYX line, the Balm cosmetics, salon services, nail polishes, etc. If you want to see all my picks, be sure to watch the video on my YouTube channel! However, I thought I’d focus here on my top picks for face, eyes, and lips!
It was hard to settle on these five, but they are the standouts. All but one is part of a permanent collection, so you can always find them at H-E-B. The is a must for the hot summer months. A few spritzes on a finished face of makeup and you will look perfect all day! To get a flawless face, the does it with 1-2 pumps of product. I think this is my 4th bottle-it’s a go to for me! Wet n Wild’s Blush & Glow Trio can take care of bronzing, highlighting and blush in one easy to pack palette, and the price is unbeatable. But it is Limited Edition, so grab it while you can. If you’d prefer a lit from within look, I recommend layering the UNDER the . It’s a great way to use a matte blush without looking TOO matte.
I had a budget in mind, so I couldn’t buy everything in sight (which was very hard). But these four eye products have quickly made it into my regular daily rotation. If you want a lot of neutral, easy to use eyeshadows at once, you can’t go wrong with the . The one shown is in , but if cooler tones are more your thing, then snatch up . Before you slap on the shadow, prime your eyelids with the . It gives the shadows something to stick to and provides a smooth canvas for all that art work! The is hands-down the best brow mascara I’ve ever used. To finish my look, I LOVE the CoverGirl SuperSizer Mascara. I love a dramatic lash look, and this mascara works like a charm, PLUS it holds up in the hot weather and doesn’t flake.
Finally, no look is complete without lipstick, and when I go to H-E-B to buy makeup, I always grab something from NYX. I’m a big fan of their products, both because of the quality and the price point. These new High Voltage Lipsticks come in a big range of colors, from the very wearable on the left, to the very bright and summery fun Beam on the right.
