My New Obsession-Caress Body Wash in Scarlet Blossom

I know, it’s a basic cheap body wash that’s available at all major drugstore retailers, like Walmart, Walgreen’s, Target, etc.  It probably has all sorts of bad ingredients, like parabens and sulfates.  But there is something magical about this thin bottle full of deep red liquid.  There is nothing special about the way it lathers, or how it makes my skin feel, but the moment the scent hits my nose, my shower stall is completely transformed into an exotic paradise.  I’ve only had this a week, but I now make excuses to take a second shower each day.

Caress has released a somewhat new line of body washes under the category of “Fine Fragrance Elixirs”.  There are four scents in the line, but this one, to me, is the stand out.  For those that don’t already know, my favorite category of scent is amber.  My all time favorite perfume is Hermes Ambre Narguile, but aside from its exorbitant price, the other drawback is that it is only available online or in an actual Hermes store.  So, I am always on the lookout for a fragrance that reminds me of my beloved Ambre Narguile.

The Scarlet Blossom scent is described as a cross between red lychee and patchouli oil.  I have no idea what lychee is supposed to smell like, but the scents that come to mind when I smell this product are warm, amber, sweet and musky with a hint of floral.  If you’re a fan of Flowerbomb, or B&BW Sensual Amber, then you’ll LOVE this.

It also works great to layer under similar perfumes.  I showered right before going out on Saturday evening and layered it with B&BW Dark Kiss Eau de Toilette, and I received a multitude of compliments.

My only complaint is that Caress doesn’t make an accompanying body mist or lotion.  I just want this scent to linger as long as possible!

You can find Caress Fine Fragrance Elixir in Scarlet Blossom at most major retailers, or you can buy it online at Drugstore.com for $5.49 here:

  1. Yeeeeeeeeears ago, at least 13, they came out with a line of scents WITH the body spray and cream/lotion. The scents have since been discontinued and I'm still bitter about that (Spring Blush and something water/waterfall I'm talking about you).

  2. Hi Marnie,

I so agree with you about his being something like an exotic paradise in the room after using!

However, are you aware that his product has been discontinued?

    Thank you!

  3. I’m sick of these fruity and sickeningly sweet scents more kitchen than cosmopolitan that are glutting the market because that’s what appeals to teenage noses, so I was aghast to find Caress had cut the ONLY body wash that set the line apart just to give us “new” versions of that same unsophisticated [insert very unsophisticated synonyms for “having intercourse” and “excrement” here]!!! I can’t afford products in stores even 10 streets over from anything selling Hermes, but if you do find anything Caress-comparable in price, do please let us know!!! I’ve begun doling out Scarlet Blossom “spongeworthy” style, but it won’t last forever…

  4. This is an old post but its worth a try….not sure when they discontinued Caress Wild Blossom but I’m dying to find something that smells like it in a body spray. Anyone know of anything? If not I’m gonna petition to get Wild Blossom back somehow!
