What's In My Bag: Essentials For A Stylish Summer

I LOVE What’s In My Bag videos–I love watching them, and I love making them (see my playlist here). Now that summer is officially here with a vengeance, I thought I’d do one, but with a different spin on it. Instead of going through the whole bag, I decided to highlight the specific products and items that are essential for the season.

Let’s start with the bag itself. I chose the in Putty because it’s light enough to seem almost white and go well with all the summer whites and pastels I’ve been wearing, but it’s neutral enough to be able to be worn all year round. This particular style of handbag works well because it can be carried by the short handles, or worn cross-body, which is great for when I’m traveling or playing tourist in my own city, which I tend to do more often during the summer. I also love the larger zippered outside pocket-it gives me easy access to my phone, which of course, is the most important feature of the bag!

Now let’s get inside–what are the essentials for a stylish summer? Well, anything that helps with the extreme heat of south Texas, which means cooling sprays, hair ties, head bands, lipstick that doesn’t melt and loads of SPF!

The / are great because they don’t melt but give you a “your lips but better” kind of look. The and papers are must haves. The powder mattifies, but the papers do the same without adding anymore powder to your face.

ACCESSORIES

If you have long(ish) hair, at some point in the day you are going to want to put your hair up. It’s nice to have some hairbands to get the hair off your face, or even an elastic to do a last minute braid or pony tail. I always carry half of a sponge in my purse during the summer to make sure I don’t have any deodorant stains on my sleeveless tops.

The most important part about being stylish in the summer is being safe-safe from SPF and those damaging sun rays. The brand has come up with a few genius products that I always have in my purse during the summer months.
