What’s New in my Beauty Bag | January 2024

It’s a new year and a new month, and it’s been awhile since I did a beauty haul, so let’s go! I recently hit the Nordstrom website and went a little nuts in the “beauty” section! I decided to go with a combination of some old favorites that I order year after year, but also went to the section “New in Beauty” to find some brand new products. I love that if the products don’t work out, Nordstrom has a very forgiving return policy, but luckily they all worked out!

FACE

– This is my most used and most purchased makeup product. You apply it as under eye corrector BEFORE you put on any other makeup or foundation. I wear the shade Light Beige.

– I decided to give this a go as an alternative to my beloved Instant Eye Lift. You apply this over your foundation, like a concealer. I like it for touch ups if it’s been a long day. I wear the shade Night Swan.

– Since I ordered this, I’ve worn it almost every day. It has the most beautiful finish-it’s glowing without being shiny or radiant and wears all day long. I wear it in the shade 0N.

– This setting powder sells out constantly-but it also restocks. I got Shades 01 to set my undereyes and Shade 02 for all over my face. I could have easily ordered shade 03-even though it’s a warmer, slightly darker hue, it’s very forgiving and adaptable. It somehow takes down the shine without mattifying.

– I have never tried a loose blush powder before and I love this concept! It blends so beautifully on the skin and has a nice subtle glow, too. I want to grab more shades but right now I have it in Tafettas Rose.

EYES

– I love Dior eyeshadows and I have been eyeing this cool toned neutral palette for a long time. Shade Nude Dress is so wearable and a great travel palette too!

– If you’re more of a one shade all over the eye kind of girl, you need this eyeshadow stick in the shade Sugar Frost. I’ve  worn it almost every day since I bought it either on it’s own or as a base.

– I NEVER skip mascara primer-it’s so good for separating and legthening-and this one is even better because it’s black!

– Since I’m a contact lens wearer, I’m always looking for mascaras that work well but won’t ever irritate my eyes. This one ticks all the boxes!

LIPS

– As I’m getting older, I’m realizing that I need (and want) lip liner to put the appearance of volume back in my lips. I’m always on the hunt for a lip pencil that is essentially the same color as my lips and this one in Subculture is pretty perfect!

TOO FACED PLUMPING LIP LINER – If you don’t like that lip burning sensation that you get from plumping glosses, then you’re really going to dislike this new lip liner from Too Faced. It legitimately PLUMPS up your lips and tingles for hours!! I grabbed the shade Post Op Pink.

YSL THE BOLD HIGH PIGMENT LIPSTICK – I think YSL makes some of the best lipsticks. This new line is stunning and the shade Nu Incongru is going to be great for spring!

– I have been looking for an alternative to a liquid lipstick that has a shine to it, and this one from CDP is exactly what I was looking for. I have it in the shade Calanthe Orchid and now I want to get them all!!

– I’ve been layering liner, lipstick and then gloss for a longer lasting look on my lips. This gloss in shade Soft Pink is the glossiest, most wearable gloss that I’ve tried in a long time! It’s the perfect wearable pink!
