My Morning Skincare Routine

Morning Skincare RoutineI’ve been getting a lot of questions about what I’m doing differently to my skin that’s been causing it to look so much brighter and more even toned.  I haven’t changed up my routine all that much, but I have added one hero product to the regimen that has improved my skin to a degree I didn’t expect.   So keep reading as I go through all the steps of my morning skincare routine (and to get a 20% off coupon code off all products)!

First things first…no matter how well I wash my face the night before, there’s always a tiny bit of mascara left on my lashes or under my eyes.  So I start off the morning routine by grabbing my and a cotton round and just quickly go over my eyes to remove any traces of yesterday’s eye makeup. It’s also a great way to wake up, since the is very cooling on the skin!

Next comes the actual washing of my face with the . I have been a loyal user of this product every since Lisa from LisaSz09 on YouTube let me try hers when were staying together at a conference.  It smells like baby shampoo and it is the most gentle cleanser I’ve ever used while still getting my skin nice and clean. One pump lathered up and rinsed with cool water and I’m ready for step 2!

Step 2 is the part I’ve been keeping a secret since early April.  I’ve been very lucky to have become friends in real life with the actual Colleen Rothschild, and she let me beta test a new product launch for her company that is now available to the world!  It’s the and I truly believe this is why my skin looks so much better!  If you missed my video about Facial Acids, have a look HERE, but to sum it up, of all the acids available as chemical exfoliants, mandelic acid is the most gentle and best for those with sensitive skin.  Every morning I take a little of the on a cotton round and run it all over my face-even my eye lids!  It gently exfoliates dead/dry skin, helps with hyper-pigmentation and I swear it keeps acne at bay as well.  Another bonus-it has neroli oil in it, so it smells WONDERFUL!

After that, there’s not anything new, but I’ll run through the rest of the steps for you.  I follow the Mandelic Acid Radiance Toner with the .  A blob about the size of a pencil eraser is plenty for my whole face.  After that’s rubbed in, I follow with the .  Even though a lot of my foundation has SPF built in, I like to be sure I have extra coverage in the summer months.

Then it’s time for the moisturizers-first the that I pat both under my eyes and on the lids, then the last step is the all over my face and down my neck.  The is light enough for use by those with oily skin (so I’ve been told by oily skinned people), but it’s moisturizing enough for those of us with dry skin (that would be me).  It dries to a lovely matte like finish, so it also makes for a great makeup primer for us dry-skinned gals.

For special mornings (not every single day), there are two masks that I reach for, depending on how much time I have.  If I’m in a hurry, I use the .  It only needs to be on for 3-5 minutes and then leaves your face with a brightness and glow that shows even under makeup.  If I have a little more time, then I’ll use the .  It needs to sit for 15 minutes to be effective and it contains alpha-hydroxy acids to exfoliate a bit as well!

Now for the best part-a discount code!  MsGoldgirl readers get access to an exclusive 20% off coupon code that’s good for all products on the Colleen Rothschild website!  The code is MARNIE20 and it’s only good for one week (July 8-15), so grab your favorites or try a product you’ve always been curious about! 1. Hi Marnie,

I can imagine that the Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum smells wonderful, I love Neroli oil!

I also use facial acids for exfoliating and I was always told that with these kind of products, it is better to use them at night, in order to prevent UV damage (because exfoliating makes your skin much more sensitive to the sun). Anyway, just a little suggestion.

    Have a nice weekend!

    Lauranne
